Salinas Chinese School provides quality Mandarin Chinese linguistic and cultural education to young people in the Chinese community, ages 5 through 18. The school is currently providing four levels of classes. School is held on Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., September through May, at the Chinese Association located at 1 California Street, Salinas.

All teachers are experienced and passionate about Chinese teaching. Students will develop the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Classes will also incorporate the five c's Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities to help students build proficiency in using Chinese language linguistically and culturally.

Presentations will be held on/around traditional Chinese holidays, including holidays' origins, legends, customs and traditions. The major Chinese traditional holidays include Chinese New Year, Lantern Festival, Qing Ming Festival, Duan Wu Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Chong Yang Festival. Students also have the opportunities to do various crafts throughout the year.
